Stephanie Ritcherson

Stephanie Ritcherson, MA, LPC

Stephanie Ritcherson is a Licensed Professional Counselor, educator, researcher, and advocate with more than 20 years of experience serving individuals, families, and communities impacted by trauma. Her professional background includes extensive work in the fields of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking, where she has served in roles as a counselor, administrator, and program director. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Social Work.

Stephanie is currently a PhD candidate in Human Sexuality at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). Her research focuses on the intersections of interpersonal relationships, race, and untreated trauma, with particular attention to how trauma shapes identity, intimacy, trust, and relational functioning. Her scholarship seeks to elevate the voices and lived experiences of historically marginalized populations while contributing to trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches to healing.

As a clinician, Stephanie approaches her work through a trauma-informed and intersectional lens, recognizing the ways systems of oppression, victimization, and social inequities influence individual and collective well-being. She understands that healing does not occur in a vacuum and is deeply committed to exploring the connections between personal experiences, family systems, organizational dynamics, and community structures.

Stephanie maintains a private counseling practice and has been featured in Psychology Today for her clinical work. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes restoration, resilience, and meaningful connection. Trained in restorative justice practices, she recognizes the significance of relationships, accountability, and community engagement in the healing process. She has facilitated numerous workshops and hosted couples retreats designed to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and promote relational wellness.

Whether working with individuals, couples, organizations, or communities, Stephanie is guided by the belief that restoration is possible when people are provided with safe spaces, authentic connection, and opportunities for healing. Her work is dedicated to fostering environments where individuals can move beyond survival toward growth, empowerment, and transformation.
